INTRUDER/BURGLAR ALARMS

Burglar and Intruder Alarms

Most burglaries occur when your home or business premises are empty; they are often not planned but committed by opportunists.

Burglars don’t need long; a theft can happen in a short period. Burglars want easy access and will avoid properties fitted with professional burglar alarm systems. An alarm will not only deter burglars but could reduce your insurance premiums.

Businesses and homes often stand empty during the holiday and festive season, so it is essential that you protect your property, equipment and valuables whilst away. Any loss or damage to property is distressing, disruptive and costly to replace. In addition, knowing that criminals have been through your property can be very unsettling and upsetting.

It is paramount that employees feel safe and secure in the workplace and that you and your loved ones are safe in their homes. Therefore, intruder alarms can be zoned, which means you can protect your business premises or home, even when it’s partially occupied or whilst you’re sleeping at home. In addition, pet-friendly alarm systems avoid pet movement within the house; passive infra-red motion sensors (PIRS) are pet tolerant and ignore the movement of pets inside your home.

For more significant levels of protection, a fully integrated security system could be the right solution for your business, maximising your commercial security and linking up standalone systems such as access control, CCTV and perimeter security. Thus giving you total control and visibility over your business security whether you’re at or away from your premises.

The NPCC, The National Police Chiefs’ Council, recommends that you use a reputable company registered with the SAAIB (Security Systems & Alarm Inspection Board). East Coast Fire Services are such a company and we have undergone intense and robust auditing to meet the SAAIBs’ strict requirements.

After assessing your business premises or property, we would design and install a security system that keeps your premises, staff and contents as safe as possible. In addition, we offer a 24-hour emergency call-out service, should you require our assistance.

Wired Burglar Alarms

There are different types of burglar alarms. Wired alarm systems are connected to a central control panel and have a series of sensors that allows you to decide which areas of your home require protection. In addition, they are connected to a backup battery power source, which means your home is protected even in the case of an outage. Wired burglar alarms are easy to maintain, and do not require batteries which need to be replaced.

Monitored Burglar Alarms

Monitored alarms connect to an external security company, Alarm Receiving Centre which monitors signals from your alarm. The advantage is that there’s someone able to keep an eye on your property at all times. There is an additional cost for this service and can often come with a contract or a subscription. If your alarm goes off, someone from the centre will call your business premises or home for a password to check if everything is ok. If they receive an incorrect password or the phone isn’t answered, they will contact the nominated keyholder or notify the police.
